Free additional content for FS22

Ashton Corners is a free-to-use mod that contains a whole new landscape for the simulation game Farming Simulator 22 (FS22). The add-on is named after a rural town in Wisconsin, containing new pieces of farmlands and natural locations for you to explore and build your agricultural paradise. It also features a number of game fixes and changes to game mechanics to create that familiar yet all-new farming sim experience.

Ashton Corners remains one of the most lifelike content packs for FS22, despite a few bugs and restrictions. Other content includes the GPS - FS22 Mod, SouthLouisiana, or Follow Me - FS22 Mod.

Experience farm life in the Badger State

Ashton Corners has enjoyed relative success among the FS22 mods released over the years, partly because of its effort to recreate a real-world location. The state of Wisconsin is also known as the Badger State for its mining history and America’s Dairyland because of its massive dairy industry—the latter providing a bit of a background on the mod’s inspiration. Dairy production, of course, is a part of running a farm.

In its scale, you can expect a full town in true FS22 fashion. There are farmlands and there is a town you can visit and check out. The mod even comes with its own functional Farm Harvestore, land prices based on the latest information available, and sorted grain bin fill types for different harvests. It also reworks the invisible fence collision issue, a persisting problem from the vanilla game.

However, its commitment to real-world accuracy, considering the reputation of the location, also means that its focus is more on grains and dairy products. Players looking for other types of agricultural experiences, such as cattle breeding, might not find a similarly extensive experience. The same goes for the building capability in this mod. Since it doesn’t have its own building pack, the designs are quite limited.

Top-tier Wisconsin sim

Based on its content and efforts to accurately capture the Wisconsin unincorporated community, Ashton Corners is a good and nuanced spin on the rural living that the Farming Simulator franchise is known for. Granted, it focuses more on the grains and dairy products that the mod’s real-world namesake is known for, but it also takes the effort to improve on the vanilla gameplay experience.
